As complex and integrating experience dramatic activity helps the child in the following: to express and develop their feelings, preferences, skills and opinions, to develop vocal and expressive abilities and skills, to develop imagination and creativity, to develop motor skills and "body language", to acquire and develop social awareness and its components: (self) criticism, responsibility and tolerance, to develop the human moral values, to gain security and confidence to understand interpersonal relationships and behavior, the child learns to cooperate, respect themselves and others because by that it acquires recognition of others. The term "at risk" became a basic term used to describe children and youth who are in difficult life circumstances that threaten their positive development and successful adaptation in the society in which they live. In other words, the term "at risk" is used to describe children and young people who experience a number of difficulties which are often the outcome of further risk behaviors eg. poverty, abuse, death of parents, failure in school, teen pregnancy, delinquency and so on. The aim of this study is first to show Drama Education, techniques and specific dramatic forms with their basic characteristics and to underline their educational and treatment potential and effects on the population at risk. The paper presents some experiences from the application of drama techniques of local experts and their perspectives with regard to this kind of work with children and youth. Key findings based on interviews speak about the importance of a leader, a good preparation, readiness for improvisation and flexibility. Interviewees witnessed numerous benefits for the population at risk such as the growth of self-confidence and self-esteem, better concentration, acquiring knowledge and skills in an informal way and benefits regarding raise of awareness and understanding of their own and others' feelings ultimately resulting in a better understanding of the environment.
