The term quantification is used to express quantitiy. It can be achieved in many ways. It can be explicitid (expressed with quantifiers) or (implicit (expressed with context). Studies have showed that ASL and RSL differ both types. When it come to quantification, there are some modality-specific characteristics.The aim of this study is to determine in which way Croatian Sign Language (HZJ) expresses quantitiy, which types of quantifiers are used, as well as, are there some modality-specific characteristics.Materials used in this research were part of a database collected as a corpus of Croatian Sign Language,. One hearing adult participated in this research. Participant is CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) and she is fluent in HZJ. The data collected in this research was analyzed by descriptive analysis using the ELAN program specialized for linguistic analysis of sign language.Analysis showed that HZJ differentiates between implicit and explicit quantification. There are also universal, extential, proportional and morfosyntactic quantifiers. When it comes to D-quantifiers, HZJ differs distributive and colective D quantifiers. Moreover, it semantically differentiatesAnalysis showed that HZJ differentiates between implicit and explicit quantification, as well as universal, existential, proportional and morfosyntactic quantifiers. Moreover, quantifiers that refer to a specific group can be differentiated semantically from those which refer to a non-specific group. HZJ also uses nonmanual features, resultative constructions and signing space as the way of expressing quantity.These results are comparable with studies in ASL and RSL. They aslo contribute to the description of grammar in HZJ.
