Introduction: Fibroids are the most common gynecological tumors with a prevalence ranging from 70% to 80% in women over 50 years of age. The prevalence increases with age and peaks in women in their 40s. Procedures: The literature required for this paper will be collected from widely available online scientific databases: PubMed, Embasa and Hrčak with keywords used in the search. The aim of this paper is to show how to embolize leimiomas with minimally invasive endovascular procedures, to emphasize the role of the nurse in the perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phase. Overview: Embolization of uterine fibroids is an increasingly popular, minimally invasive treatment option for women with uterine fibroids. This endovascular approach is an effective procedure that is well tolerated and offers relief of fibroid symptoms with a low risk of complications. The advantages of embolization described in the literature include shorter operation duration and faster recovery after surgery, with consequent earlier return to daily life activities, shorter length of hospital stay and lower incidence of immediate complications caused by minimally invasive technique, with lower morbidity compared to other available techniques. Conclusion: The role of the nurse is emphasized through all phases of treatment of patients, and includes perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phase. In addition, empathy, communication skills and the ability to work in a team stand out as the most important qualities of nurses. Through the synergy of these virtues, the nurse together with other specialists provides the best possible care for patients referred for endovascular treatment of fibroids.
