Objectives: To examine whether there are differences in knowledge about ovarian cancer between undergraduate nursing students who attented secondary medical school and those who attented gymnasium, to examine whether there are differences in knowledge about ovarian cancer between undergraduate nursing students with regard to gender, and to examine whether there are differences in knowledge about factors risk for ovarian cancer, as well as knowledge about ovarian cancer treatment among first- and third-year undergraduate nursing students. Study design: A cross-sectional study. Subjects and methods: This research included 68 undergraduate nursing students at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek. The data was collected by a questionnaire on the knowledge of nursing students about ovarian cancer, created for the purposes of this research. Results: The average age of the respondents is 22.46 years (SD = 2.42). The largest number of respondents attented secondary medical school before enrolling in studies, 22 more in reference to those who previously attented gymnasium. The highest level of knowledge about symptoms was found in the statement "Continuous pain in the abdomen and/or pelvis is a symptom of ovarian cancer" with as many as 76.47% of correct answers. The highest level of knowledge for risk factors was determined for the item "Existence of a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in the family" with 98.53% of correct answers, while the same percentage (98.53%) goes for the treatment of ovarian cancer regarding the question "For the treatment of ovarian cancer is it sed?" where all the given answers were correct. Conclusion: The biggest difference in knowledge about ovarian cancer is the knowledge about the symptoms and risk factors for the development of ovarian cancer, while the knowledge about the treatment of ovarian cancer is the same among all respondents. It was determined that there is a statistically significant difference in knowledge about ovarian cancer between students who attented secondary medical school and those who attented gymnasium, as well as between male and female respondents. Also, a difference in knowledge about risk factors for ovarian cancer between students in the first and third year of study was proven, but not in knowledge about ovarian cancer treatment between the first and third year of undergraduate nursing studies.
