Social networks are an indispensable part of the everyday life of young people, as well as adults. Today it is impossible to imagine functioning without any form of social network, or Internet. Apart from the social aspect that enables us to social networks, education is also an important factor. Education is no longer carried out only in educational institutions with teachers and books because all information is easily accessible to us. Children no longer need to take up information, but learn them how to get information. Social Networks are a new way of learning precisely because of the widespread availability, easy access to information that interests us, information sharing, recommendations from others and the like. This work is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with social networks, social network development, and some social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Edmodo, Twitter, Google+). In the theoretical part, the use of social networks is also discussed in both the faculty and the lower grades of elementary school. In the empirical section, the use of social networks for learning, the purpose of social networks, time spent on social networks, the representation of social networks among students and lower grades, as well as the differences in the use of social networks between students and primary school students, are detailed. The study was conducted at the students of the Faculty of Philosophy in Split - a Master's program, a total of 84 students and pupils from Elementary school Trstenik from the first to the fourth grade on a sample of 93 pupils. The results showed that social networking among students is greater.+
