The subject matter od this paper are the problems of educational achievements and aspirations among the high school students. Within the main focus are the students od gymnasium frome Sinj (Croatia) and the students of vocational school in Knin (Croatia), with respect to their aspirations for continuation of education and the possibilites of future education after high school. The point of the paper refers to connections between quality living and specifications of the aspirations when talking about a future education and it also refers to correlations between the residence place and expressed wishes for the continuing education. This paper's goal was to establish if there are any obstacles to continuing education and also to establish a differences between the students of gymnasium and students of vocational school. The research sample consist of the final grade students who attend a gymnasium (Sinj) and vocational school (Knin). It was found that there was no difference when talking about the possibilities of the continuing education between gymnasium students and vocational students, but that there are a differences when it comes to aspirations. That is because the majority of the gymnasium students plans to continue education, when the vocational students tend to get a job without continuing education. The relevant result of the research pointed out the absence of connection between place of residence and aspirations, with regards to differences between the rural and urban places of residence. There is a correlation between a quality living and aspirations, in the sence that the higher quality living is, the higher is a chance that student will choose a college when it comes to future education after a high school. To sum up, the main conclusion of this paper is the fact that the majority of students still wants to continue education which confirms Baranovićs (2002) thesis – a higher education becomes a massive thing.
