The professional identity of educators is influenced by the entire system and community, but also by the educator's view of himself and his profession. Part of the professional competencies of an educator is his autonomy. It is based on knowledge and is developed by taking the initiative and taking the role of researchers in educational practice. An autonomous educator is responsible for changing educational practices together with co-workers, parents and the local community. All participants in the educational process benefit from a quality partnership. Competent educators know how to readily respond to challenges in building a partnership between educators and parents. The main purpose of the master thesis was to determine how educators develop their professional autonomy and partnerships with parents. For the purposes of the research, a questionnaire consisting of two parts was used. The first part contains 14 questions related to general data on respondents (gender, age, length of service, level of education, frequency of professional development, satisfaction with professional development by the institution and competent institutions, and the choice of topics that would help educators in their work ), while the second part of the questionnaire refers to the self-assessment of the partnership between educators and parents. The obtained results showed that educators achieve their professional autonomy within their institution, but that the partnership should continue to be built and developed.
