According to the modern view of upbringing and education, the task of educational institutions is to provide the best possible educational experience so that individuals can competently construct and reconstruct knowledge and develop an exceptional set of knowledge, skills and abilities. At the same time, the role of teachers, ie teaching practice, is emphasized. Research confirms that teaching practice is influenced by the concepts of teacher teaching. The mentioned influence stimulated the research of this paper, the aim of which was to examine the concepts of teaching future teachers on a sample of 88 students of teaching orientations at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. The results showed that students mostly agree with the constructivist conception of teaching. The exception was the answers to the first open-ended question in which their own definition of teaching was sought, and the respondents mostly gave traditional definitions. This is explained in several ways: by the complexity of defining terms in the field of education, the 56 fact that teaching is related to the demanding role of teachers (recorded definitions covered only part of that role) and that the research was conducted online. from the internet and does not actually reflect the respondent’s teaching concepts). These results give an optimistic view of the teaching of future teachers.
