Cafes serve as a place for many people to drink their favorite drink while talking and socializing with others. They differ in various elements, such as location or decoration, and each person can choose the cafe that best suits their needs and preferences. In the theoretical framework of the work, there are main chapters that provide an insight into the history of cafes; the understanding of cafes through the concept of place; the formation of attachment to cafes; and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the "life" of a cafe. The 200 participants selected for convenience or ease of access took part in the online survey, and their practices and attitudes about cafes as places of gathering were examined through various aspects. The highest participation was shown by young people, in the age range of 18 to 24 years. The obtained results showed that for many participants, cafes function as social places where they spend part of their free time, most often watching interactive content or using technology. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic indicated the importance of cafes in the lives of a large number of participants, who, despite the risk of potential infection, supported the reopening of cafes with their visits.
