The purpose of this paper is to explore how hearing impairments affect foreign language learning and to identify approaches and strategies that improve educational outcomes for individuals with hearing loss. Hearing impairments can significantly impact speech development, language acquisition, and sound perception. Despite technological advancements, individuals with hearing loss may still face challenges in learning both their native and foreign languages, particularly in acquiring grammatical structures and vocabulary. Recent research has demonstrated positive attitudes towards using various strategies for foreign language learning among those with hearing difficulties. By selecting and combining methods, issues with sound perception can be overcome, and understanding of the foreign language can be enhanced. Adapting methods by using visual tools, incorporating movements of the hands and lips alongside speech, and implementing creativity in teaching significantly enhances educational outcomes and reduces stigma regarding the abilities of individuals with hearing impairments. Therefore, this paper emphasizes the possibility of achieving full potential in foreign language learning for individuals with hearing impairments, with timely recognition of difficulties and adaptation of teaching approaches.
