Peer violence is one of the biggest challenges in today's society, so the final purpose of this paper was to contribute to knowledge on the mentioned topic. The main goal was to analyze the frequency of commited and experienced peer violence, as well as student's self-reports on reporting and communicating about the occurence of peer violence in elementary school in Karlovac. The first part of the paper refers to the theoretical analysis of peer violence, previous researchs, forms, participants, consequences and prevention of violence, while the second part refers to empirical research. 74 5th and 7th grade students participated in the study and the data was collected by a questionnaire. The results showed that there is no statistically significant difference in commited and experienced peer violence regarding to the grade of students (5th and 7th grade), that students of upper grade commit verbal forms of violence more often and that verbal violence is the most frequent form of violence. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences in the frequency of reporting and communicating about violence regarding to student's grade and exposure to violence, that students of upper grade communicate more with friends about experienced violence, while lower grade students communicate more with parents. Also, it was shown that students who experienced peer violence communicate about it more often and that 12% of 5th and 27% of 7th graders experienced sexual violence, which is very worrying.
