Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder and is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system. During the disease, other non- motor symptoms develop, such as cognitive disorders, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, fatigue and many others. Recent research suggests that there are a number of non-motor symptoms of the disease that are the subject of increasing interest given the related factors to the quality of life of patients. The incidence of nonmotor symptoms is less well investigated in relation to motor symptoms. Given the chronic course of the disease and symptomatic treatment, great emphasis is placed on improving the quality of life and therefore it is important in clinical practice to know the factors contributing to a better life quality so they could be the basis for planning therapeutic interventions. But the subjective quality of life of people with Parkinson’s disease has been extremely little investigated.In this paper, the relevant research and its evaluation is comprehensively presented in order to highlight the recommendations for clinical work. People with Parkinson’s disease are less happy and significantly more dissatisfied with their lives compared to a healthy elderly population. The current literature on subjective quality of life and psychological interventions for Parkinson's disease is mainly characterized by poor quality research and more extensive research with greater methodological strength is urgently needed. This paper emphasizes that the strengthening of various factors and the reduction of non-motor symptoms could contribute to a better prognosis of Parkinson's disease and improve the subjective quality of life (life satisfaction and sense of happiness) of a person suffering from it.
