This paper aims at shedding light to the field of Salesian pedagogy while emphasizing contribution of don Bosco's pedagogy to modern science of education. The aim of the conducted research is accordingly defined with the aim of the paper. Its goal was to explore contribution of don Bosco's pedagogy to modern science of education while qualitative methodology was used. A total of 8 intereviews with participants who are working in salesian schools, who are salesian priests or both. The research results have shown affirmative attitude towards understanding the contribution of don Bosco's pedagogy to modern pedagogy. Collected answers, related to contribution, were categorized in two groups; (I) findings that support modern pedagogy in its existing values; (II) findings that point at originality of Salesian pedagogy that can enrich modern pedagogy. Some contributions are student orientation in which is encouraged harmonic development, positive evaluation of work, encouraging informal interactions between educator and scholar, educational relationship that is authentic and personal etc. The research results points at understanding salesian pedagogy as contemporary, but also timeless and in the future there should be no concerns for its work. Two main arguments are that salesian pedagogy is not something static and it needs to be continually updated while second argument refers to believing that it will be transmitted through the Salesians themselves, youth that grow up in that spirit and all others who have fallen in love with it. In short, due to the characteristics presented of the Salesian pedagogy, the paper discusses the name of "preventive system" which is often used as a synonym for Salesian pedagogy. It was concluded that salesian pedagogy surpasses the prevention of undesirable behavior of young people and therefore a more appropriate term would be an expressive system.
