The thesis studies shows the comparison of the accent pronunciation of students from the "Generalski Stol" elementary school and students from the "Grabrik" elementary school from Karlovac and how much the accent pronunciations differ from the standard language. In this research participated 20 seventh and eighth grade students. 10 students were from the elementary school "Generalski Stol" and 10 students wee from the elementary school from Karlovac. Also 38 students from the graduate study of Phonetics participated in the evaluation of the pronunciation of student accents. The research was preceded by a prosodic description of the Croatian standard language as well as a description of the dialect of the city of Karlovac and its surroundings. In this thesis, the auditory analysis of phonetics students confirmed assumption, namely that the accent pronunciation of students from the "Generalski Stol" elementary school is more different from the standard language compared to students from Karlovac. The results of the research showed that students most often pronounce short-falling and long-falling accents, and rarely long-rising ones. A short rising accent appeared several times in the speech of students from Karlovac and this is considered a coincidence. At the end of this thesis there are suggested exercises for correcting the pronunciation of accents.
