This study conducted an analysis of the public space of Savska Street and the Savski Most public transportation terminal with the aim of exploring how users perceive this space. The research addresses the key research question: What are the revitalization potentials of the Savska Street and Savski Most public transportation terminal from the perspective of citizens? The research method of content analysis confirmed the historical significance and symbolic role of the space, while existing development plans pointed to a tendency for its further transformation into a business zone and an area of significant architecture. The observation method and the method of semi-structured walk-along interviews revealed infrastructure shortcomings, aesthetic incompatibility, and a lack of symbolic significance of the space for users. The study uncovered a pronounced need to adapt the space to make it accessible and functional for all user groups, especially for people with mobility challenges. The research also revealed the potential of the space for sustainable urban connectivity through green transportation modes such as cycling and emphasized the importance of addressing issues related to automobile traffic and parking. Simple interventions, such as marking bicycle lanes, installing traffic lights, or planting protective greenery, can significantly enhance the quality of the space and user experience. Ultimately, this research highlighted the alarming need for holistic urban planning that takes into account the history, functionality, aesthetics, and inclusivity of the space to make it an attractive, functional, and sustainable urban environment for users.
