Emulsions are defined as thermodynamically unstable dispersions, mutually immiscible two or more liquids. The addition of nanofillers to polymeric matrix or polymers can improve mechanical properties, rheological properties, adhesion properties, thermal properties, electrical and optical properties of the end product. The process of preparation of the nanocomposite is carried out by stirring in the solution, by stirring in the melt and in situ by polymerisation of the polymer or inorganic phase. Polyacrylate emulsion (PA) was synthesized by emulsion polymerization. With an ex situ method PA+A200 and PA+R711 emulsions were prepared in the concentration range of nanofillers φ = 1; 1,5; and 3 %, with the aim to investigate the influence of nanofillers without surface treatment (A200) and nanofillers whose surface was treated with methacrylic silane (R711) on the polyacrylate properties. Rheological properties of PA+A200 and PA+R711 emulsions were determinate. Surface characteristics of the fillers and PA film, adhesion parameters and thermal properties were investigated. From the obtained values of the adhesion parameters it is apparent that between PA and A200 there will be more significant interactions than that of the PA and R711 systems. The R711 filler addition significantly affects the rheological properties of the PA emulsion in comparison to the A200 filler. The DSC analysis showed that the polyacrylate matrix is amorphous and that the addition of both types of fillers in the concentration range of 1-3 % does not affects glass transition temperature of PA matrix. The results of TGA analysis showed that the addition of A200 and R711 nanofillers in lower concentrations improves thermal stability of the polyacrylate matrix at the beginning of thermal decomposition. However, further degradation rates result in a reduction in the thermal stability of the PA matrix by the addition of A200 and R711.
