It is a common saying that being a teacher is a vocation, not a job, because it is a profession characterized by dynamism and readiness of teachers for everyday challenges. In the past two school years, the COVID-19 pandemic has made the job of a teacher even more dynamic and challenging. Therefore, this paper is based on a survey conducted among primary school teachers in the Republic of Croatia, which aims to determine the attitudes and opinions of teachers about the connection between the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in the classroom management. The studied literature in the theoretical part of the paper gives us an insight into the definitions and explanations of the key terms for this paper such as differences between classroom management and leadership, teacher communication with students and parents, digital competencies and pedagogical documentation management. The term COVID-19 pandemic was also defined and a cross-section of the key events related to the pandemic in the world and in Republic of Croatia was made. Also, the measures adopted so far and the researches focused on education during the pandemic were studied. In the empirical part of the paper, a transversal survey was conducted with an online survey on the attitudes and opinions of primary school teachers in the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic, in which 107 respondents from 18 counties participated. The results of the research showed that most teachers think that the pandemic has not affected their way of keeping pedagogical documentation and that their digital competencies are now at a higher level than before the pandemic period. Also, most teachers stated that the pandemic period had a bad impact on the quality of teaching and that it was not difficult for them to make contact with parents and students, but the ways of communication have changed.
