The basic aim of the work is to clarify the concept of Reggio pedagogical concept throughout history, explain its characteristics and expose its application in early childhood education and care facilities in the Republic of Croatia. Reggio pedagogy left a mark in the work of educational educational institutions because it is constantly evolving and differs widely from other pedagogical approaches to teaching primarily by not referring to direct teaching. Unlike traditional approaches, the center of this concept is a child who is viewed as intelligent, resourceful, and inquisitive will, who are willing to explore and develop independently, sometimes unusual conclusions and solutions. The main role in child development is by parents and educators who, with their skills, knowledge and abilities, help children to carry out the activities they have chosen. In addition, in addition to the Reggio pedagogy, it will also define the space as "third-school teacher," and the competences and skills to be provided by the educators and the parent in order to participate successfully in the educational process of the child will be specified. In addition to competences, the role of educators and parents will be defined when conducting educational-educational activities. Their roles are crucial to Reggio pedagogy, which clearly defines what kind of educators should be, and what kind of relationship a parent should have with his child. Work will also present actions and projects to be developed and realised in order for children to become more independent and to develop confidence and additional skills and be compared to existing projects and activities in the Republic of Croatia.
