This graduate thesis presents the results of an action research that aimed to teach pupils about several learning techniques that they would be able to use in self-study. Also, teaching content on certain learning techniques should have an impact on the implementation of more interesting lessons. The research was conducted in 3rd grade of the Primary School of Josip Lovretić in Otok. Prior to the action research, I conducted a survey to check the initial state of pupils using questionnaires. The results of the questionnaires have confirmed my assumption, that studying is not interesting or easy to pupils and that they know a couple of study techniques, but they are not using them while studying. This was the main reason I have chosen this topic. With their answers, pupils have expressed a desire to familiarize themselves about new and interesting ways of learning. The activities were carried out through four weeks of professional-pedagogical practice. In Class of community pupils were introduced to new memory and study techniques. I have conducted more than 15 school hours using different learning techniques. Every morning, together we exercised for better concentration and easier learning. I have informed them about the functioning of the brain and encouraged them to eat food that would additionally affect the better functioning of the brain. Pupils have actively participated in the implementation of all activities, which confirms that activities were interesting and they were generally motivated for conducting this type of work. I conducted a central and final survey to get feedback from the research participants which I consider as an evaluation of the activities that were carried out. The results showed that pupils were satisfied with conducted classes which increased motivation for their re-use in the process of learning. They have recognized that these study techniques facilitate learning and they have highlighted ''Mental map'' and ''Storm of ideas'' as most interesting techniques. Also, results show how action research can contribute to the achievement of essential changes in class. The results can also serve as an incentive for other teachers to make teaching more interesting and learning more easier through the persistent use of teaching techniques.
