The Ukrainian crisis is currently the biggest crisis in Europe. Given that many measures have been taken to resolve this conflict, it is to be expected that it will eventually end, but that is not the case. The Ukrainian crisis began in November 2013 after President Yanukovych announced he would not sign an EU accession agreement. At the beginning of the crisis, mass protests were held at the Maidan, main square in Kiev. The competition between the West and Russia to overcome the geoeconomic orientation of Ukraine and many other factors led to riots and conflicts that still did not find a constructive solution. The struggle of Ukraine or only a certain part of the Ukrainian people to join the Euro-Atlantic alliances, namely NATO and the EU, did not come to the approval of Russia nor to the approval of the part of the population who claims to be Russian ethnic origin and who has more identified with Russian culture and identity than with European. Russia has been trying to expand its influence in Ukraine from fear of NATO enlargement to the east. On the other hand, the EU has offered Ukraine security, prosperity and convergence with Western standards with its programs and projects. These events have led to a distortion of relations between the actors, namely between Russia and Ukraine, the EU, the US and NATO. Although Russia has done illegal annexation in the Crimea and violated the international norms that prescribe the conduct of a referendum, provoking EU sanctions, returning Crimea to Ukraine is still unresponsive. The end of the crisis is considered to be the signing of the Minsk Agreement, which stipulates the ceasefire of both sides and the insistence on reforms in Ukraine. Nevertheless, in the southeast of Ukraine, the ongoing conflicts persisted today.
