The point of this paper was to describe concepts of basic income and meanings it holds for different groups and ideologies. Basic income has many forms which differ from each other in terms of conditionality, individuality, source of financing, frequency of payment and application of each of them would produce differing results. This paper has attempted to provide overview of different variants of basic income and theirs advantages and flaws as seen from different perspectives. Basic income is often viewed upon as a simple concept, which is not a beneficial standpoint because arguments and counterarguments do not apply in every specific case. Methodolody of this paper consisted of text analysis of scientific articles and books on basic income, specifically about questions of support, ethics, and economic consequences. Therefore this paper deals with attitudes from both left and right wing along with feminist and green viewpoints. Additionally, this paper describes stances pertaining justice and liberty, as well as economic growth, employment rate and structure of labour. It can be concluded that support for basic income is spread across ideological spectrum, even though it is still generally weak, with preferences for specific concepts.
