SUMMARY The topic of graduate thesis is development of political-economic relations between China and Latin America. There has been analyzed the phenomenon of China's growing presence in region and its implications for the economy of Latin America countries. The post-Cold war period has been observed, especially beginnig of 2000s with bilateral visits and growth of trade between China and Latin America countries. In early 2008. the Chinese government issued the first policy document on Latin America and Caribbean (White Paper) and set foundations for further co-operation. In observed period, there has been presented the relationship between China and three Latin American countries – Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina. In all of these three cases, there are positive consequences of the growing presence of China in the region as a result of the distancing Latin American countries from United States. It is important not to forget that there are six (of 19) UN members in the region that recognize Taiwan rather than China. Therefore, we can assume that in the coming years China will make significant effort to gain the ''simpathy'' of the states in region. The last state recognizing China was in 2017. Panama, and is expected China will focus on the other Central American states.
