The topic of this thesis is the design of the technological process of a molding insert. The whole process of insert production from the arrival of the raw material in the company to the delivery of finished product to the customer will be described. To begin with, production challenges will be described and how to deal with them with the help of Industry 4.0. Furthermore, the company Teh-Cut d.o.o. will be described and what it produces. After that, the CAD program CATIA will be described and how it contributes to the creation, design and optimization of products. The third chapter talks about the importance of planning and organizing production and how the ERP system helps us in this process. Next comes the most important part of this thesis and that is automation. It will be explained what a flexible manufacturing system and what is Industry 4.0 and what is needed to make them happen. The emphasis will be on the SOFLEX control system, which manages the process and connects the various production systems. The fifth chapter describes how quality control is done in the company on the example of a mold insert. The following chapter is a description of the Tebis CAM program and the impact of the CAM system on production and its integration with the CAD system. This is followed by the seventh chapter, which deals with the systems for managing and organizing cutting tools. It will be told how tool management software shortens the required tool preparation time and their integration with storage systems and presetting machines. Finally, the process of automating the production and what had to be satisfied for the production of the mold insert will be described.
