The paper consists of a theoretical and an experimental part. In the theoretical part o paper, general information about corrosion and protection with organic coatings is processed. The coating components, the surface preparation of the samples, and the different drying methods of the coating are discrabed. In chapter 4., alkyd-based coating are presented, one of the most used coatings due to their properties and affordability. Water-based coatings are also described due to their environmental friendliness and reduced amount of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the atmosphere. In the experimental part of the work, the surface of the test samples was prepared. Coatings were applied to the test samples, and the quality control of the anti-corrosion protection (AP) was performed. The dry film thickness of the coating was measured, and corrosion resistance tests were carried out in the humidity and salt-spray chamber. Coating adhesion tests, hardness measurements, and evaluation of the degradation of coatings in terms of bubbling and rusting after exposure in the chambers were performed.The aim of the test was to determine how the number of coating layers affect the protection of steel against corrosion and under which conditions the selected coatings are more resistant. Based on the conducted tests, the studied literature, and the obtained results, an analysis was made and a conclusion was drawn.
