The topic of this thesis deals with defining and describing the services that cloud technology offers to the business market and private users. Technology is evolving obviously and it can actually be stated that we are witnessing a new revolution; not only it is an industrial, but a digital revolution that is increasingly being implemented in the business environment, but also in everyday human life. After an initial introduction to the possibilities offered by cloud computing systems, an attempt is made to clarify with which digital technologies the cloud system is connected to. Most digital technology processes take place on the principle of virtualization, which would briefly represent the pooling and sharing of technological resources. Cloud systems and virtualization are close terms because the cloud platform works through virtual servers. The thesis discusses the benefits that cloud platforms offer for business users, but also the benefits it offers to private users in terms of renting storage space. We are talking about renting virtual space because the service is actually borrowed for a certain period of time and is paid to a certain price, depending on the needs of the users. In the hotel industry, the cloud system is most often applied through the Property Management system, so the paper will talk about the many advantages of hotels that implement a cloud system in their business, but also about some problems when adapting the cloud system. Secondary research on the application of cloud technology in the hotel industry will explore in details the advantages and disadvantages of implementing a cloud platform in the hotel system.
