INTRODUCTION: Fractures are one of the most common human injuries. They can be very dangerous and complicated and lead to complications that endanger human lives. During formal education, nursing students acquire certain knowledge about emergency situations, different traumas and ways of treating them. Nursing students also improve their knowledge about emergency situations and fractures through professional practice. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the research was to assess the knowledge of students about caring for people with bone fractures. The specific goal was to determine whether there are differences in knowledge about caring for people with bone fractures between full-time and part-time undergraduate nursing students. RESPONDENTS AND METHODS: The research was conducted at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. It was conducted on students of the first, second and third year of full-time and part-time undergraduate nursing studies. In the research, a questionnaire was used, which was divided into two parts, where the first part examines sociodemographic data, and the second part examines knowledge about caring for people with bone fractures. 82 respondents participated in the research. RESULTS: The results obtained by descriptive statistics and t-test indicate that the knowledge of undergraduate nursing students at the University of Rijeka is the same between full-time and part-time students, and that 80% of the questions in the questionnaire had more than 50% correct answers. Hypothesis 1 and Hypothesis 2 are rejected. CONCLUSION: We conclude that nursing students at the University of Rijeka are very well informed about the treatment of patients with bone fractures, and that there is no significant difference in the knowledge of full-time and part-time students in this field of emergency medicine.
