The nursing image changes with the development of nursing profession, technology and the world at large, affecting nursing students and their understanding of nursing and their own image. The main aim of this study was to test the difference among the opinions of nursing students in the first, second and third year of full-time and part-time studies at the Faculty of health studies in Rijeka. Out of a total of 225 students currently attending undergraduate professional nursing studies, 132 students students were tested. The partakers of the study were 71 full-time study students and 61 part-time study students. According to the years of study, 22 first year students of full-time study were tested, 23 second year students and 26 third year students of full-time study. Also, 9 first year students of the part-time study, 24 second year students and 28 third year students of the part-time study were also tested. The respondents answered questions about their attitudes towards nursing and the nurse's image through an anonymous questionnaire. Research has proven that there is no relevant difference in the attitudes of students with remark to the type of study (full-time, part-time) and the year of study. The research showed almost the same attitudes of all students to the offered assertions. The research has also shown that nursing students have predominantly positive attitudes about nursing and their own image, which provides an encouraging picture of future nurses and the development of nursing as a profession.
