This paper focuses on the analysis of steel water tanks as key components of water distribution systems. It examines their construction, functionality, maintenance, and the preservation of the quality of stored water. Various types of tanks are covered, including ground-level tanks and elevated tanks. The paper describes the technologies and processes used in their construction, as well as the materials and methods applied to ensure the durability and resilience of the tanks. Special emphasis is placed on welded steel tanks – describing the process of their construction from steel production to on-site assembly. The paper also highlights the importance of proper water circulation, pressure stabilization, and maintaining water quality in water distribution systems. Various methods for predicting fluid behavior and technologies for remote monitoring of tank conditions are explained. The conclusion states that water towers are crucial for maintaining stable pressure in the water supply network, reducing energy costs, and enhancing the safety of water distribution.
