In the Master's Thesis, topic „Innovative approaches for a seismic design of reinforced concrete structures“ was discussed. In the first part of the assignment, topic was elaborated throughout a theory and then it was applied in numerical model of structure where static and dynamic design was performed. The theory was elaborated in detail with appropriate sketches, graphical inset and equations that are important in dynamics of structures. Basic problems of an earthquake, its occurrence and consequences with structural dynamics details of seismic analysis methods such as ELF method, modal analysis, pushover analysis and dynamic nonlinear analysis were discussed. The part „Energy – based design“ discusses the energy approach of structural calculation. It is one of the most recent approaches, based on the energy Consule by an earthquake. In the fourth part, different types of structural systems, the influence of ductility and behaviour factor and reinforcement are presented. A numerical design model was created in SCIA Engineer 18 to compare the results. The lateral force methods and the modal analysis were compared and the structure was designed with the relevant results. The contribution of the thesis is in the comparative analysis of the results obtained by different seismic methods.
