The basis of quality of life and work in settlements, as well as overall social and economic development, is a well-planned and realized transport, water management and energy infrastructure. Electric power infrastructure is one of the key energy infrastructures without which a modern way of life is unthinkable. The construction of electric power infrastructure is a complex and multidisciplinary activity that requires the cooperation of experts from several different technical fields. This diploma thesis describes the methodology of construction and management of construction sites of electric power facilities, and examples of the construction of part of the cable sewerage system and three substations in the city of Karlovac are presented. Given that it is a location within the protected cultural-historical complex of the Karlovac Star, during the design and realization of the project it was necessary to comply with the special conservation conditions of the Ministry of Culture and Media, Conservation Department in Karlovac. The interventions described in the paper were realized as part of the larger project "Agglomeration of Karlovac-Duga Resa", which includes the reconstruction of the existing and the construction of new water, drainage, gas, electric power, hot water and telecommunications infrastructure. The project was largely co-financed by European Union funds and is another example of the successful use of these funds in order to improve the spatial situation in Karlovac County.
