This final paper will address the topic of inclusive and universal design with special emphasis on buildings intended for preschool education of kindergarten children. The main goal of this final paper is to give a brighter insight into the use of universal design in practice in order to most effectively and efficiently approach the solution of possible problems in existing preschool buildings and in the planning of new buildings. In the introductory part of the final paper is explained meaning and difference of the terms inclusion and universality and also there are mentioned approaches and definitions of design. The second part begins with the elaboration of the main aspect of the final work, the issues of architectural design approach in defining space and spatial elements that advocate universal and inclusive principles. Since the topic of the final paper refers to the application in preschool institutions, the next part of the final paper accurately indicates the needs of children with disabilities and special needs, their physical dexterity, mobility and manner of movement. This is followed by the most important part of the final work, which specifically defines application of universal and inclusive design in kindergartens. In the last part, there is a solution to the situation in the Republic of Croatia the laws of the Republic of Croatia and also listing the research part dealing with the situation in kindergartens in the Republic of Croatia. The final part contains the conclusion and the necessary literature for the final paper.
