Three-dimensional ink jet printing is one of the rapid prototyping (RP) techniques. 3D ink jet printing is based on conventional ink jet printing, used in graphic technology. Basic materials are powder (instead of a 2D substrate) and binder (instead of ink). The objects are built by hardening of the consecutive layers of powder and binder, which are cross-cuts of a 3D model. Image analysis is a technique that is widely used in various scientific fields. Generally, image analysis is relatively easy to use, the routines can be customized and various software solutions are available. In the field of graphic technology, it is often used for monitoring of interaction of printing materials. The diploma thesis deals with monitoring of reproduction of elements on surface of 3D prints printed with different printing preferences, by using the image analysis of samples captured by the microscope. Image analysis was done using free and easily adaptable software ImageJ. Image analysis is a useful tool for analysis and monitoring of interaction of materials in 3D printing and analysis of reproduction of elements on 3D prints surfaces, especially as custom made routines are easily developed.
