The thesis begins with an historical overview of the beginnings and development of fashion photography while analizing the conditions in which it originated and how it formed as the recognizable branch of photography we know today. The thesis continues with the clasification of all the types and semi-types od fashion photography; what defines which type and how do they differ; with which media’s they are portrayed. The formation and photographing of fashion images is also describes through analizing the process, from beginning through realization and needed gear to the postproduction processes of digitally altering the images. The ethics of digitally processing the images is also analized; how much is too much and what are some good and bad examples of digital processing. In the practial part of this thesis, the poll resultes on retouching and perception are analized and exmaples of fashion photographs on location and in studio as well as beauty photography and product photography are displayed.
