With innovation and development of new graphic materials, today, graphic technology stivers for more environmentally responsible production, innovative design, and most of all it strives for the high quality of the finished graphic product. Given that each graphic product has it is own lifespan, in addition to the quality of the product, which is important during it is use phase, it is necessary to think about the end of it is lifespan. To prevent the harmful effects of graphic products on the environment, they should be recycled at the end of their life cycle. If we are discussing about graphic papers, the most important method of recycling is deinking flotation, which success rate depends on the quality of collected paper for recycling, type of printing process and printing ink properties, presence of different coatings, product age and climate conditions during it is life cycle. For the various needs of today, digital printing technology is increasingly used with electrophotography as one of the representatives. To ensure high-quality printing by electrophotography, printing substrates can be treated with some procedures, such as applying various coatings or corona treatments. However, the processing of the surface of the printing substrate will affect the interactions between the printing ink and the printing substrate, which will also affect the success rate of its recycling. In this paper, therefore, the influence of the interaction between the substrate, the printing ink and the finished primer on the recycling performance will be studied.
