In this Master thesis will be explained whole process from creating 3D model to printing it on 3D printer. It will be presented all kind of different software’s that are used for creating 3D models, and what are the most popular ones that are used in the industry and why. It will be explained what are the differences between CAD software’s (Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and software’s for 3D modeling like Blender and Maya and what are the differences in modeling process for 3D printing or some other branches of industry (e.g. video games). After making 3D model before printing it the model is imported in so called “Slicing software”. More powerful 3D printer’s manufacturers has their own “slicing software” and they will be mentioned in this thesis but the most mentioned ones will be the most used ones and those are Cura and Simplify3D. In slicing software we are determining all kind of parameter’s that will have big impact in 3D printing process like layer height, nozzle temperature and printing platform. There will also be mentioned two most used 3D printing technologies, 3D printers from different manufacturers (Creality, Prusa) their advantages and disadvantages, the whole 3D printing process that has been developing in last 30 years and what is expected from this technology in the future and it’s further development.
