The paper deals with the topic of the press in the way it is defined in literature, but also its variants in real production. Although ofset printing has wide and diverse application, analysis and exploration of the immediate environment, we come to a clear conclusion that all major prints are usually printed on rotational machines. The production itself is a process or more processes that output the end product, and today key elements are continuity and stability, which is in the case of newspaper production is achieved by the integration of individual phases into one production process. That is why it is increasingly difficult to connect segments of production using a single work order that follows the product from planning to delivery, allowing for more precise quality control and ability to preventive instead of corrective action. It is clear that this means increased complexity of the system, as well as significant positive changes in energy savings, shortening the time of production, reducing the possibility of inconsistency or failure resulting in lower cost of labor. The goal of the paper is to describe basic characteristics and process of the rotational press.
