Sažetak | Online nadgledanje nakon prekida romantičnog odnosa je danas sve češća pojava kojom ljudi
nastoje reducirati za to razdoblje karakteristične osjećaje nesigurnosti i zbunjenosti. O
prekida, Online nadgledanje i Objavljivanje s namjerom. U okviru razumijevanja doživljaja
prekida, identificirane su teme Zatišje pred buru i Poslije svega, koju opisuju sljedeće
podteme: Prva pomoć, Bijeg od problema, Iz grešaka se uči, Zar sve živimo isti život? i
Zaljubila sam se u sebe. Drugo područje kojim je opisano online nadgledanje obuhvaća
sljedeće teme: Umreženost zvana „followanje“, Online detektivke, Znatiželja ubila mačku, Što
se krije u muškoj glavi, Što to on ima, a ja nemam?, Ti i ja smo sada stranci, Sve me boli od
Sažetak (engleski) | Online surveillance following the dissolution of a romantic relationship is increasingly
common today, as people try to reduce the feelings of uncertainty and confusion that can
characterize that period. There isn't many research on this phenomenon, especially in the
Croatian population, which is why this study aimed to gain insight into the process of online
surveillance and its consequences using qualitative methodology. The aim of this research was
to gain a deeper understanding of the thought processes of individuals prone to online
surveillance and to uncover some of the consequences of this behavior on individuals' wellbeing and their process of moving on. Nine semi-structured interviews were conducted with
young adult female participants, aged between 23 and 32. By conducting thematic analysis on
the collected responses, 15 different themes were identified, which can be categorized into
three categories: Experience of Breakup, Online Surveillance, and Intentional Posting. Within
the understanding of the breakup experience, the identified themes were Calm Before the
Storm and After Everything, which is described by the following subthemes: First Aid,
Escaping Problems, Learning from Mistakes, Are We All Living the same Life?, and I Fell in
Love with Myself. The second identified area reffers to online surveillance and includes the
following themes: Networked Called “Following”, Online Detectives, Curiosity Killed the
Cat, What’s Hidden in a Man’s Head, What Does He Have That I Don’t?, You and I Are
Strangers Now, Everything Hurts Because of You, I Want You to Be Okay, and One Step
Forward, Three Steps Back. Within the area that reffers to Intentional Posting, the following
themes were identified: Better Without You...Or?, Revenge Is Sweet, Insight into My Life, and
Am I Doing the Right Thing? Participants cited curiosity, analyzing the ex-partner’s thoughts,
and comparison as the main motives for surveillance and believed that this behavior hinders
the process of moving on. The findings of the conducted research provide valuable insight
into the thought processes of individuals who tend to use social networks as a coping strategy
after a breakup. |
