Today, 97% of the scientific community agrees with the thesis that climate change is the consequence of human intervention on the environment and nature. The ever growing industrialization has led to an alarming condition concerning climate, especially in the last couple of years. Some authors notice that liberal democracies have a whole range of structural problems that prevent a successful struggle with climate change and the reduction of the emission of greenhouse gases. In addition, international fragmentation, competitiveness and lack of inclusiveness lead to the fact that global problems are addressed ad hoc and disproportionately to their real needs. The aforementioned problems present a whole range of challenges for liberal democracy when fighting climate change that it needs to resolve as quickly as possible. Some philosophers argue that a slow and unsuccessful struggle with climate change is connected to our moral system and the time when it was developed. They explain that mankind developed out of and, until recently, lived in small, well connected communities. Within those communities our moral system has developed over years, and therefore it is not in accordance with the moral problems we face today in our global society. Some philosophers think that moral bio-improvements are the solution, while others criticize moral bio-improvements as the means for salvation.
