The aim of this study was to determine the influence of biological age on specific dimensions of anthropological status, such as anthropometry, motor abilities, and ball skills, by observing differences between biologically more mature and less mature players. The study involved 46 youth soccer players from three clubs: NK Omladinac, NK Orkan, NK Croatia Zmijavci. The average age of the sample was 12.60±0.50 years. After measurements and testing in multiple clubs, the entire sample was divided into two groups based on biological age: a biologically more mature group (N=22) and a biologically less mature group (N=24). The sample of variables consisted of a total of 12 variables divided into three categories: anthropometric characteristics, motor abilities, and ball skills. Descriptive statistics were calculated for the entire sample, as well as for the separate groups of biologically more mature and less mature players. An independent samples T-test was used to determine differences between the observed groups. The results show that biological age significantly distinguishes more mature players from less mature players in all variables of anthropometric characteristics (body height, sitting height, body mass). A statistically significant difference between the groups was also observed in the medicine ball throw (MBM) variable from the motor abilities category. For all other variables of motor abilities and ball skills, biological age did not show statistically significant differences between more mature and less mature players. These results should be applied practically, especially in the selection of young players, taking into account the biological age of each individual.
