The purpose of this paper is to educate about the mechanism of injury, classification, and rehabilitation (of the presented case) of a talus fracture. The talus, as the only bone in the foot that connects to the bones of the lower leg, is extremely important, so its injuries can cause significant and lasting consequences. The parts of the talus bone are the head, neck, and body. The mechanism of injury and its classification depends on the part of the talus where the fracture occurred. For the example of the rehabilitation process, we use a real case of a multifragmentary fracture of the talus with dorsal dislocation of the talus body. The injury is treated with an ORIF (open reduction and internal fixation) surgical procedure. Rehabilitation begins after the surgery. Injury rehabilitation is usually divided into three phases: the acute, regenerative, and functional phases, but due to the nature of this specific injury, the functional phase is omitted because a return to sports is no longer possible. The acute phase begins immediately after surgery and ends when the person achieves full weight-bearing (walking without crutches). It is divided into five sub-phases. After the acute phase, the regenerative phase follows, in which kinesitherapy is used as one of the rehabilitation methods. The goal of the kinesitherapy process is to achieve the highest level of rehabilitation that this injury allows. The process is divided into three stages. We start with light exercises and gradually progress to more difficult ones as we move from stage to stage. The result of rehabilitation varies from person to person. Still, the expected outcome is to achieve the highest possible level of stability and normalization of walking, with the lowest possible degree of disability.
