The aim of this research is to determine and explain the opinions of water polo experts on changing the rules of water polo game. The sample of examines was made up of 50 water polo experts from Croatia. The sample of variables presented a questionnaire of 20 closed type questions with five possible ranged answers and one open type questionnaires. According to the results of descriptive statistics it has been found that significant changes in the structure of water polo game, with the aim of greater attractiveness, would have occurred if the following rules would be introduced: „FSMF“- a foul free shot would be perform at the place where the ball is located, not where the foul was made; „OIP“- to award an exclusion or a five meter free kick can be delayed or given priority to the attacker; „MZI“- the place to change the player would be located up to half the field due to dynamic game; „L6M“- the line for the shot after the „light“ (regular) foul moves from 5m to 6m, and the goal can be achieved except by direct shot on the goal also after faking, dribbling or placing a ball on the water; „VNAP“- the goalkeeper is allowed to move and touch the ball over the half of the field, and at the end of the match (for example two last minutes) the goalkeeper can go to the offensive half of the field and score the goal. Future research has to determine whether and how the changes in the water polo game from 2019 will contribute to the structure and effects of the water polo game.
