Stability is the property of the system to return to its original stable position after destabilization. Lumbar syndrome or lower back pain, is one of the most common health problems in the world. However, in most cases where the problem is not caused by injury but it is caused by poor lifestyle, soreness is solvable by postural stabilization exercises (exercises in which the goal is to maintain a particular body position despite the effect of gravity). The trunk is the nucleus of the body, the central part of the body which connects the upper and lower extremities. It is made up of passive (bones, joints) and active structures (muscles), and its basic function is to maintain stability during daily various activities. However, as we these days spend a lot of time in a low-quality and inactive way, there is a gradual decrease in the functions of the active structures. In this way, the active structures are inhibited and the passive structures are gradually being stressed, which increases stiffnes and tension gradually. Therefore, we can say that the active muscular structures of the torso don't do any more their basic function, which is to ensure the correct position of the spine and optimal alignment of all the joints in space during daily activities. This automatically increases the possibility of occurence and development of problems in the lower back and pelvic region. To improve trunk stability we use exercises to develop trunk endurance during which is very important to maintain the proper breathing pattern. Proper breathing pattern results in the creation of intraabdominal pressure, which increases the stability of the spine while performing complex movements. Kinesitherapy tries to delve deeper into the issues, discover the causes, consequences and ways that would enable a normal and healthy life.
