Magnetic resonance (MR) is a diagnostic and exploratory method researching the structure of a sample based on the interaction between the external magnetic field and the nuclei or electrons. The sample is put into the uniform external magnetic field resulting in occurrence of the longitudinal magnetization. Radio frequency pulse (RF pulse), which causes the magnetization vector to change its direction, ultimately it is vertical to external magnetic field. Such magnetization is called transversal magnetization. The measuring devices are then able to measure the values of the newly formed transversal magnetization vector. The magnetization vector returns to the state of the initial orientation once the RF pulse application ends and this process is called the relaxation. Also T1 and T2 types of relaxation are then being measured and they are the most important parameters that affect the outcome of the image. The structure of a molecule can also be described in the observed sample using the MR spectroscopy. Measuring the resonance spectrum of the sample and comparing the obtained results to the frequency of the referent sample we can find out the composition of the observed matter. The difference between those two frequencies is called the chemical shift (ω).
