In this thesis I will describe the most common autoimmune disease of the skin and the most important methods of laboratory diagnosis which are used in the diagnostic procedure of these diseases. The number of available diagnostic methods is wide, and the diagnostic procedure includes a wide range of procedures from the simplest up to those that are more complex in terms of time-demanding and financially aspects. Diagnostic algorithm always begins with basic procedures such as medical history and clinical examination. This, simple diagnostic procedures are further complemented by the general laboratory and more complex diagnostic procedures choice of which depends on what we suspect and we want to prove or exclude. I'll start with a description of the available diagnostic methods aim of which is to establish antibodies and other important parameters involved in the etiopathogenetic process of autoimmune diseases. Below I will describe the largest group of autoimmune skin diseases, specifically, group of autoimmune bullous dermatoses and a group of autoimmune connective tissue diseases. As part of the description of a particular disease in these groups of diseases I will describe the exact diagnostic procedure applied with the aim of setting up an accurate diagnosis. Diseases in this group often clinically resemble one on another, and for this reason the laboratory diagnosis is extremely important because it helps to solve the differential diagnosis problem which is often present in this diseases.
