This final paper presents a simplified process that precedes the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant that uses an Archimedes screw turbine (AST). The Archimedes screwturbine is used for an environmentally friendly way of producing electricity that does not have a major impact on the animal life within the watercourse it uses to power it. It requires small water falls, small volume flow of water and relatively small investments considering that it does not require the construction of a dam. The introduction describes the origin of Archimedes' screwas well as its use for various purposes, with an emphasis on its advantages and disadvantages. The principle of operation and the method of production of the Archimedean screwturbine and the associated system are explained. In the practical part of the work, the calculation and dimensioning of the Archimedean screwturbine was performed, the associated systems and equipment for energy conversion were selected. Finally, an assessment of the economic profitability of a small hydroelectric power plant with an Archimedean screwturbine was made.
