Within this paper, the topic of implementation of "smart" devices necessary for the automation of the distribution network is discussed. It is a technical description and principle of operation of "smart" devices that are installed in power facilities in the depth of the distribution network. The automation of the distribution network reduces the duration of failures caused by interruptions in the supply of electricity and reduces the costs caused by the occurrence of failures. Due to the increasing implementation, construction and commissioning of renewable energy sources (solar and wind power plants), it is necessary to improve or implement a greater degree of automation by introducing remote control into the distribution network. The paper describes the operation of "smart“ devices that are installed along the depth of the distribution network. In addition to the basic function of remote control, remotely controlled disconnecting devices also enable the measurement of electrical quantities, which are interesting for a more detailed analysis of phenomena that are accompanied by the occurrence of faults in the distribution network.
