In this work paper we are designing the portal frame of a hall. The introduction explains what a portal frame is and how do we define the local coordinate systems of each individual part of the frame. The introductory example explains the section method by which internal forces are obtained. The internal forces of the portal frame were calculated for the following cases, the load due to its own weight, the load due to the snow and the wind load from the outside and the inside of the structure. After the calculation of internal forces, diagram s of internal forces and moments are drawn, design is performed for the most unfavorable load combination. After selecting the profile, the distribution of normal and shear stresses according to the height of the cross section is shown. The verification of the calculated values was done using the 2D Frame Analysis software package.
