Oral hormonal contraception is one of the most reversible methods of protection against pregnancy. It consists of a combination of estrogen and progestogen or just progestogen oral pills. Many contraceptives, in addition to contraceptive benefits, also have non – contraceptive desirable properties (regulation of the cycle, improvement of sexual functions, headaches, etc). By reducing the dose of the hormone, the tablets became much safer to use call mom and the side effects where reduced to minimum. The choice of appropriate hormonal contraception is individual taking in consideration personal wishes of patient as well as drug ingredients. Considering the possibility of side effects in women who have risk factors (cardiovascular disorder, age, smoking), the pill will be contraindicated.
