Graševina is the most economically important and most widespread grape variety in all parts of continental Croatia. It has regular and good yields, so the wine of the same name occupies a leading position in Croatia in terms of production, sales and consumption. Its quality depends on the chemical composition of the wine, so it is necessary to determine the amount of free, bound and total sulfur, ethanol, total and volatile acids and reducing sugars in wines. In addition to valuable compounds, wine also contains heavy metals which in elevated concentrations can affect the quality of wine. Their content in grapes and wine depends on the variety, climate, soil, but also on the application of agricultural practices in the vineyard and technological processes in production. Knowledge of the content of certain heavy metals can be used to determine the quality, nutritional value, health, geographical affiliation and originality of wine. Therefore, it is desirable to monitor metal concentrations in wine. In this paper, Graševina wine from five producers of eastern continental Croatia, Slavonia region, is analyzed. All methods of chemical analyses used in laboratory, showed satisfactory results in the amount of analyzed ingredients in wines. In the same wines, the concentration of individual metals was determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). The results showed that the wines meet the prescribed requirements.
