The research on the reaction of winter wheat and maize to reduced tillage, at different doses of Nitrogen fertilization, was conducted during two technological/vegetational cycles: for maize during 2013., and for winter wheat during 2013/2014. The research was conducted at the Čačinci site (GPS: Long. 17.86336 E; Lat. 45.61316 N), on the Pseudogley soil type. The studies were conducted on five different tillage treatments and three Nitrogen fertilization levels. The tillage treatments were: conventional tillage – CT, subsoiling – SS, chiseling – CH, disc-harrowing DH and no till - NT, and Nitrogen fertilization treatments: N1 – fertilization reduced by 50% compared to the fertilization recommendation, N2 - fertilization conducted according with the fertilization recommendation and N3 - fertilization increased by 50% compared to the fertilization recommendation. According to the obtained results, the weather conditions and then the researched soil tillage variants had greater impact on all the studied yield components as well as on the agricultural yield itself. The highest grain yields of winter wheat were obtained precisely on the variants with subsoiling (SS = 5.14 t ha-1) and chiseling (CH = 5.06 t ha-1) as the main soil tillage. The highest maize grain yield was achieved on the conventional tillage variant as the main tillage treatment (OR = 10.23 t ha-1), while the difference in yield between the other studied tillage variants was very small. Reduced soil tillage system with disc-harrowing (DH) as the main soil tillage treatment, as well as no till (NT) variant have proven to be inferior in these studies compared to systems where soil is cultivated/loosened to a greater depth. Between optimal fertilization according to recommendation (N2) and fertilization increased by 50% (N3), no justified differences were found in the amount of achieved grain yield, although for some indicators, for both researched crops, the highest value of agricultural yield was determined, as it is expected, on fertilization treatment according recommendation (N2).
